Clusterware Rolling Upgrade from Version 10205 to 11203

In this article I'll show you how to update the Clusterware from Version 10205 to 11203 without any outage.
I've followed the below steps to upgrade the clusterware.
1. Install the cvuqdisk-1.0.9-1.rpm on all the nodes from the rpm folder of GRID.
#rpm -ivh cvuqdisk-1.0.9-1.rpm
2. Configure the SCAN for clusterware, as I dint use DNS so only made an entry for SCAN ip in the host file. This host file should be identical on both the nodes. Please see my previos post to configure the same.
http://dbarohit.blogspot.in/2012/12/installation-of-oracle-database-11gr2.html
3. Either configure NTP or make sure it is not configured so the Oracle Cluster Time Synchronization Service(ctssd) can synchronize the time of the RAC nodes. Here I'll deconfigure the NTP.
#service ntpd stop
#mv /etc/ntp.conf  /etc/ntp.conf.orig
4. Now make sure the CRS services is up and running on all the cluster nodes.
# ./crsctl check crs
#crs_stat -t
5. Run the cluster verification script before upgrade the clusterware. It should be successful for all the nodes.
6. Once done with cluster verification, run the clusterware installer to upgrade the same.

Once the clusterware verification is succeed, run the installer.

Now the Clusterware has been successfully upgraded to version 11203. Lets check the same.

In my next post I'll upgrade the RDBMS from version 10204 to 11203 in Real application cluster which will require the down time.
